System Requirements

The workhorse behind Harvest TraceMaster is Microsoft SQL server 2000, a high-end database engine capable of great scalability.
The stand-alone packhouse software is based on the license-free 'desktop' version of SQL server. For large systems, the full version may be run at an enterprise level with an effectively unlimited number of users.

Operating System Compatibility :

Windows 98 or ME;
Windows NT 4, Windows 2000, Windows XP
(Note: Harvest TraceMaster will not install on Windows 95)

The Harvest TraceMaster system does not place unusually high demands on the network hardware or software. It may be run similarly to any other application.

Sample Hardware Configurations

Small Business (1-4 users), no server (ie. peer to peer)

'Server' (ie. this PC hosts the data files and SQL Server Desktop engine)

800 MHz + Single processor
5 Gb + IDE Hard Drive
256 Mb + RAM
CD/ Tape backup
Windows 98, ME, 2000 or XP (2000 or XP preferred)

Workstations

300 MHz + Single processor
2 Gb + IDE Hard Drive
128 Mb + RAM
Windows 98, ME, 2000 or XP

Even the cheapest available new system should surpass these specifications easily.  Note that older workstations below these specifications will likely still operate, but may do so very slowly (RAM is the most important element).

Small-Medium Business (2-6 users), file server

Server

1 GHz + Single processor
20 Gb + IDE Hard Drive
512 Mb + RAM
High Capacity Tape backup
Windows 2000 Server or XP Server

Note that this server would be used as a general purpose file server.  An existing file server could be utilised.
Workstation specs are same as for the small business.

Medium-Large Business (15-30 users), file server

2 GHz + dual processors
60 Gb + SCSI Hard Drive
2048 Mb + RAM
High Capacity Tape backup
Windows 2000 Server or XP Server (30 users)
SQL Server 2000 Full version (30 users)
Windows ISA Server
Permanent Internet Connection

Note that this server would be used as a general purpose file server.  An existing file server could be utilised.
Workstation specs are same as for the small business.
